Self-Portrait

I paint self-portraits constantly, as an observation, a reflection and an expression of myself. Even though I have said so, I always have difficulty in identifying a painting as my self-portrait. With time, sometimes a “self-portrait” loses its original meaning and becomes far from myself, and sometimes a painting becomes more and more like a self-portrait. The paintings here can be considered as my self-portraits. Some of them are intended as a self-portrait: I knew I was painting a self-portrait when I was painting it. Some of them become a self-portrait through time: I wasn’t making a self-portrait at that time when the painting was made, but the painting becomes more and more like me, or I become more and more like the painting.
